Geometry
I will continuously remind myself that these articles are mainly for me… to help me figure out what I want to do this second half of my life/career. I may start opening them up for comments because someone may have a suggestion I hadn’t thought about before. Today I want to write about Geometry, my favorite class in school, that is high school and college.
The book “Love + Work” explains that asking why, and going into specifics, is important. So far I have found that to be true. So, “Why is Geometry my favorite class?” At this moment I am clueless as to my ‘why’. Writing works for me so hopefully I will come up with my ‘why’ during this writing.
When I think about Geometry the main thing(s) that comes to mind is that I never had to take any notes, that I could SEE what the teacher was talking about and that was enough. It was also amazing to me how much everyone else struggled. I remember thinking it was funny how I struggled (somewhat) with Algebra and others seemed to be okay… now the tables were turned. I would finish my assignment way before everyone else. Once done I would sit there watching everyone else trying to understand and complaining.
Another thing I remember is that we had to be a protector and I was so excited to get one and start using it. I liked making things precise, making the graphics, so to speak, precise. For example, I received a 100% on a project (a geometric projection), along with a note saying what a wonderful job I did. I thoroughly enjoyed that project and it showed.

I’m not sure what else I like about Geometry. I do not remember the geometry theorems and such, so I don’t know if it was geometry itself that I liked or that it is visual and came to me easily. I need to think about it a little more but if it is the visual and came to me easily part… that would explain why I don’t get as excited about Geometry.
