National Novel Writing Month

Hehe, I’m so excited and happy. Yesterday, Friday, I worked on editing my novel… finally. It’s been a long time since I finished the first draft, back in 2021. I enjoyed writing it during NaNoWriMo, in November, but never having edited a novel before, I haven’t been too thrilled to re-read it, to edit it.

Friday I thought it might be fun to put one chapter a week on my blog. Kinda like a series on Prime Video, Max and/or Netflix. In doing so I can edit it chapter by chapter. I had so much fun working on the Introduction and the first chapter, realizing it was fun because I added images, making it somewhat visual like a streaming series.

I am looking forward to working on the next chapter. I already have some of the images, which I created in Photoshop’s Firefly. I had some much fun working on those as well. It’s interesting how working on the images has me thinking of ways I can add richness to my novel. I’m thinking that I can now really see it. I wanted to write this article to note that even though I am putting this on my blog, it is still in the editing stage. So as I go along I may go back and make some changes to the previous chapters (adding new images and all). I am aware that sometimes the second and third edits may completely change the story line, that’s what makes it exciting, at least for me.

Oh, one more thing. I didn’t really do this while writing my first draft but this time I actually did some research and not only was that fun but it also had me thinking of different ways I can take the characters. I am still determining if this is the best way to go about editing but since I am having fun (and actually working on it) I will continue to work on it this way… who knows where it may lead me.
