First Week Of My Challenge

“Every challenge, every adversity, contains within it the seeds of opportunity and growth”

My First Week on Whole30 Challenge

My last job, and last month on that job, in Northern Virginia I did a Whole30 Challenge with my coworker. She completed it one time before, that was my first time. I remember being excited that I could still have potatoes, and with that I jumped right in. I ate the same thing for the whole 30 days, it didn’t bother me, in fact those 30 days went by fast. In the end it was about the results, which I loved. I slept better, lost some weight, had more energy and just plain felt stronger.

I could write more about that first challenge, instead I want to focus on my current challenge. I asked my sister if she wanted to do it with me and gratefully she said yes. It’s easier to do it with someone, as I have tried, unsuccessfully, to do it on my own a few times now.

Along with doing the challenge, seeing if my sleep returns and I lose some weight, I want to make this a complete lifestyle change. The challenge says no sugar, and if you eat some you have to start over. I am not going to be that strict on myself, this way I will be assured that I can make this a lifestyle change.

My Whole30 Menu

So far this is what my menu looks like. I am using this as a base and will modify it, or not, each week…

Breakfast:

Sausage Meatballs
Boiled Potato (or air-fryed)
Guacamole

Lunch:

A Salad

Dinner:

Chicken (Stips, I found some already cooked)
Potato
Guacamole

Simple and easy to do, this too will ensure that I can make that lifestyle change. This second week I have decided to take that base and add Kevin’s Natural Foods meal, for lunch & dinner, along with a salad and/or potato. Also, I want to use my air-fryer and my portable pot, so I’m going to rearrange my room (staying with my folks, to help them out and get back on my feet) so those appliances will be easy to get to and use.

Wonderful 1st Week

This Tuesday will be a week. I am already sleeping better and I feel lighter, although it doesn’t look like I’ve lost weight, yet. We are not supposed to weigh ourselves, so I will wait until the end of these 30 days. I’m excited to see how this challenge turns out!
