AI Job Search
I have been working for thirty years, and when I look back it’s been a frustrating yet interesting journey. Most of my journey has been in the IT field, with a couple of breaks to see if I could use my computer skills in the film industry. I even moved out to L.A. at one point (yes, I know that VFX jobs were in the San Fran area) and had Sony Pictures call me three times for an interview but that’s another story, for another time. I’m at the point in my career where I want to do something exciting and meaningful to me. When I found out that AI uses Linear Algebra (my second favorite course in school) I had to pursue it.
Will OpenAI, Oracle, and Softbank’s $100 billion to $500 billion Stargate project go forward, in light of DeepSeek being less expensive? Is there still a possibility that Stargate could come to NC, bringing an estimated 40,000 jobs? If so, how would one go about getting in on the ground floor? According to John Boyd Jr., principal of the well-known corporate site consultancy The Boyd Company, North Carolina could handle the huge Stargate AI data center despite its size, power requirements, and the need to produce a workforce of more than 40,000 people.
A year ago I set up an account on AWS and took a class. It’s been a while but since AWS now has DeepSeek I thought it would be interesting to log on again and play around with it. I ended up having to create a new account and I see that there are several training courses. It will take a minute to get used to the app again, and as I’m doing so I will be taking the training courses.
